TRAIL RUN | BUILT FOR ADVENTURE
Artisan Development along with Trio Properties hired BRIO MKTG to do the creative direction and marketing for the first phase of this community of 96 apartment homes, which is phase one of 312 total homes plus retail/commercial space. When hired, Trail Run's developer had already decided on the name of the property. The name is indicative of the unique selling proposition because the neighborhood sits back, off the beaten path, just off burgeoning Talcottville Road in Vernon, CT. The hidden treasure of this community is its wonderful backdrop, or backyard (if you will), with acreage all along the Hockanum River Trail; an area rich with many outdoor enthusiasts that hike, bike and enjoy kayaking on this meandering riverfront near downtown Hartford.
THE CONCEPT & THE CAIRN
With such an active, amenity rich lifestyle offering, we had to imagine that our prospect would identify with a landmark that was authentically nature inspired. We used the age old stacked Cairn as our landmark icon within our logo and signage to unmistakably identify the property. We collaborated with our landscape and signage designer to literally construct a Cairn beside our main monument sign to mark our place, for the 50K+ passersby to see each day during their commute into the city of Hartford. This Cairn instantly was a memorable landmark and we loved that it connects instantly with the nature enthusiast; but was also used in ancient times for ceremonial purposes, sometimes relating to astronomy or burial items or to mark objects on a trails. At Trail Run Vernon, the Carin marked the spot that was Built for Adventure our tagline for the property.
THE PATH TO ATTRACTING RESIDENTS
BRIO was charged with communicating a grand vision that always is the most important with the first phase of any community. The goal was to let the area know that there is a new standard of nature inspired, environmentally-conscious living in the area. Not to mention, the pièce de résistance was that the impressive amenity package already the size of a clubhouse you’d expect for a 312 apartment property. Imagine how happy the first 96 residences were that they could social distance in those beautifully designed, XL spaces during this 2020 season! With so many amenities at the property, there was something for everyone; pet-friendly amenities like the fenced dog park, Bond & Bark; the huge Compass Clubhouse resident lounge with entertainment kitchen & café, Ascent Fitness, Riverside Aqua Lounge with resort-style pool, fire pit, and outdoor grilling kitchen. . All community spaces and amenities were carefully curated to complement a natural lifestyle for the active renter on-the-go.
